Fila Museum, Biella: preserving historical footwear without sealing them

The challenge. The Fila Museum Foundation preserves a heritage of historical footwear that must remain visible and inspectable by the public. This requirement necessitates packaging that is not completely barrier, leaving collections vulnerable to humidity — the primary cause of deterioration of leather surfaces.

The solution. From 30/10 to 4/12/2017 Propagroup conducted a test by inserting Propadyn in some packages, calibrated to a relative humidity of 50-55% and accompanied by dedicated dataloggers to detect environmental variations.

The result. Data analysis confirmed that Propadyn eliminated the strong day/night fluctuations responsible for deterioration, preserving the collection in an environment without special protection systems.
